McAlester hires Lou Dawkins as new boys’ basketball coach

Lou Dawkins has been hired as the McAlester boys’ basketball coach. McAlester Public Schools Board of Education approved hiring Dawkins at a Board of Education meeting Monday night.

Dawkins was the boys’ basketball coach at Muskogee High School for two seasons. Dawkins was in charge of the Rougher Youth Sports Academy, a developmental program for elementary age kids in various intramural organized sports within the framework of the Muskogee school district, since its inception in 2019.
