MUSKOGEE – Douglas Ray Lollis, Jr., 31, of Checotah, was found guilty by a federal jury on one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The jury trial began with jury selection on Monday, March 3, and concluded on Tuesday, March 4, with the guilty verdict.
During the trial, the United States presented evidence that on Dec. 22, 2022, Lollis pawned a SAR 9mm pistol, which he possessed illegally. At the time of that interaction, Lollis was prohibited from owning firearms after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The guilty verdict was the result of an investi-gation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the trial and ordered the completion of a presentence report. The sentencing will be scheduled following completion of the report.
Lollis will remain out on bond pending sentencing.
