On Feb. 1, Rentiesville, OK was recognized as a Purple Heart Historic Black Town by the Military Order of the Purple Heart and received a Purple Heart sign for the town. Rentiesville was one of fourteen historically black towns to be declared Purple Heart towns to honor the veterans who lived there.
