Fall in love with your local library
By HEATH ALLEN LIBRARY ASSISTANT

It is a little-known fact that the library is for lovers! This February at your library, we’re ready to help you find more of what you love.

Take a chance on love and go on a “Blind Date with a Book” by checking out a gift-wrapped book from our curated display. You won’t know what book you have until you take it home and open it, but there will be a few clues on the wrapping. You may also find a “sweetheart” box somewhere in the library from our Valentine’s scavenger hunt. Trade it in to a librarian for fun prizes for kids or adults.

Movie lovers will enjoy the return of our popular Family Movie Night at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10. Popcorn lovers can enjoy a freshlypopped snack not just during the movie, but also on every Friday in February. If you love crafting, then our “Pinterest” Party event may spark your interest. Our individual computer lessons are the perfect match for anyone with a love/hate relationship with technology. Reserve a timeslot with a librarian on Thursday, Feb. 20.

Senior exercise classes three days per week is perfect for fitness lovers. We have a monthly adult book club and weekly kid’s storytime activities for book lovers. Our weekly Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying groups are ideal for lovers of interactive games. Music lovers will be sure to enjoy weekly guitar lessons taught by the talented blues musician Selby Minner!

Learn more about our services, events, and programs at the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library at eols.org/checotah or follow us on Facebook.

Heath Allen is the Library Assistant for the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System. Contact Heath at hallen@eols. org.
