Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative is proud to announce it will, once again, sponsor an allexpense paid trip for two high school juniors to attend the National Rural ElectricCooperativeYouth Tour in Washington, DC.
The Youth Tour Leadership Experience is being held June 13 through 19 and will bring together students from across the country.
Participating in the Youth Tour Leadership Experience is a terrific way to learn about this great nation, develop leadership skills, better understand electric cooperatives, and make friendships that will last beyond the week.
“At Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative, we are thrilled to offer the Youth Tour Leadership Experience as an opportunity for young leaders to develop skills and gain experiences that will empower them to shape the future of our communities.” said Kaci Dennis, Communications Outreach Coordinator, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative. “By sending these exceptional students on this transformative journey, we are confident they will return with a renewed passion and drive to make a lasting, positive impact on the world around them!”
To participate in this program, students must be a current high school junior who live in or around the electric service area of Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative.
Candidates are required to submit an application that includes a short essay of approximately 250 words in length. This subject is: “If selected, what would you be most excited to see, and what does it mean to you?”
The final selection for the Youth Tour Leadership Experience will be made by a committee based on an application and personal interview.
The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 28.
