Ortiz punches ticket to State

Named the Oklahoma State recipient of the 2024 Heisman Scholarship

Checotah senior standout swimmer Elisabeth Ortiz has qualified for the OSSAA State Swim meet. Ortiz has been the cornerstone of the Wildcats’ swim team. Ortiz was also named the Oklahoma State Female recipient of the 2024 Heisman Scholarship.

Ortiz placed 12th in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 30.75 seconds. She also placed 9th in the 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:10.65 in the Class 5A East Regional.
