Eufaula senior basketball player Maddox Bridges scored his 1000th point in the Ironheads’ win over Henryetta.
“Reaching 1,000 points is an incredible milestone, and I’m so thankful to God for blessing me with the ability and opportunity to play this game. I want to give a huge thank you to my coaches Jason Dowdy, Malcolm Warrior from Checotah and Rob McKinzae, and Michael Campbell at Eufaula for their constant support and guidance. I also want to shout out my teammates at both Eufaula and Checotah schools for pushing me and being part of this journey.
Starting the season 3-0 is a reflection of how well we’re coming together as a team. We’re meshing really well, playing unselfishly, and working hard for each other every night. I’m excited about what this season holds for us, and I’m grateful to be a part of it,” Eufaula senior basketball standout Maddox Bridges said.
“I’m extremely proud to have had the opportunity to coach Maddox. He’s a really good athlete and finds ways to score in so many ways as evidenced by 1,000 points early in his senior year.
What I’m most proud of Maddox is the evolution of his game this past year with me and how he’s learning to pick his spots more and look for his teammates. He told me before the season that 1,000 points was always his goal since he was a little kid, but now that it’s here all he wants to do is win. He gets more hyped passing to his shooters because he knows how much they can help us win.
I’m really happy for him, and glad that Jentry got to be the historic assist for him since they’ve played together since they were little,” Eufaula head coach Rob McKinzie said.
