Olivia Sloate, a native of Tahlequah, is the most recent recipient of the Oklahoma P.E.O. Continuing Education Grant.
The maximum grant was awarded to her as she pursues a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Rogers State University.
Sloate, an Owasso resident, worked in the medical field while living in Tahlequah. During her tenure at NEOHealth Care Center, she found her passion through helping others. She is just 18 months away from achieving her goals.
Chapter T, Eufaula, sponsored her for this competitive grant, and chapter members Judy McCombs and Gale Applegate assisted with the application documents. Chapter T continues to assist Sloate with financial and moral support.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a 155-year-old philanthropic organization that provides educational opportunities for women. They do this by offering scholarships, grants, awards, and loans to help women enhance their lives through learning.
Olivia’s aunt and grandmother, both of whom live in Checotah, are members of Chapter T, Eufaula.
