A search continues for four, possibly black, males alleged to have robbed Casey’s General Store, 1051 W. Gentry Ave., in Checotah.
The armed and masked suspects entered the store at about 2:43 a.m. on Friday, July 5, and held up two employees.
According to Police Chief Darren Glover, $974.30 was taken from a cash register. The gang also grabbed some cigars as they left.
A witness reportedly saw the suspects sitting in a gold-colored Buick parked behind the store 30 minutes prior to the robbery.
Glover said the witness identified the vehicle as a 2000 model Buick with damage to the rear driver’s side and chrome trim around the fender well.
The witness said one of the suspects got out of the vehicle, walked up to him and tried to pay him $5, told him to leave and not come back.
