The National Weather Service has issued a heat alert for this area, anticipating dangerous conditions for several days through this week.

Dangerous heat and humidity is expected into next week across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, which will make being outdoors unpleasant during the daytime.

If you do have any outdoor plans over the next few days, stay hydrated and dress appropriately in lightweight and lightcolored clothing and wear a wide-brimmed hat. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Temperatures over the weekend were in the high 90s, which felt like 103 and higher.
