The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, in which a Colorado man was killed when his truck rolled backward and hit him.

According to the OHP, Robert Cornell, 72, of Clifton, Colorado, parked his 1993 Chevy GMT400 pickup truck on a hill on S 4169 Road, just south of Indian Nation Road, five miles west of Checotah.

Cornell exited the vehicle and it moved backwards, striking the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
