ORU’s only other CWS appearance was in 1978. The CWS is scheduled June 16-26 in Omaha, Nebraska. ORU will open against TCU on Saturday.
Jake McMurray went 4-for-5 with two RBIs to help lead ORU past Oregon 11-6 in the NCAA Eugene Super Regional’s deciding Game 3 on Sunday night at PK Park.
Oregon (41-22) cut its deficit to 5-4 on Sabin Ceballos’ homer in the sixth. But the Golden Eagles scored three in the seventh after a pair of leadoff walks. One run scored on an error, another on a wild pitch and McMurray had a RBI single for an 8-4 lead.
