Are you committed more to your limitations than your potential? Are you so wrapped up in what you cannot do that it hinders you from doing what you can do? Anything that keeps you from being all that you are called to be must be put down. You are the only one who can limit your own potential.
Are you committed more to your limitations than your potential? Are you so wrapped up in what you cannot do that it hinders you from doing what you can do? Anything that keeps you from being all that you are called to be must be put down. You are the only one who can limit your own potential.
Let’s look at some excuses that we use as personal limitations:
• Not smart enough or educated in certain areas
• Do not have adequate time or resources to do what we need to do
• Not comfortable enough to get out of our comfort zone “I can’t” is one of the most limiting beliefs you can have because it gives you no opportunity for change. You tie your own hands and by repeating this statement and then you begin to believe it. These limitations then become self-imposed boundaries that we produce to protect ourselves actually limit us. If we continue to list our limitations, we will keep those limitations.
I know it is scary to step out of your comfort zone and stretch your expectations and abilities, but it can be done. Just like a runner, they didn’t start by running a marathon. I promise you, they started by walking maybe a mile or maybe even less. Then they got stronger and more confident and they started jogging. Maybe they even asked a friend to join them for accountability and encouragement. Finally, they started running and letting go of the limitations that they had set in their own mind and in their ability.
So, how do we stop limiting ourselves and set these baby steps into motion? First, we must change our excuses and mind set to become encouraging examples instead.
We must reset our goals and stop limiting our abilities with these small steps:
• Tell yourself that you are competent enough and capable
• Move forward and believe you can do more because you are good enough
• Keep trying and never give up until you finally succeed Remember these personal limitations don’t break us unless we choose to believe those limitations. We can remake us if we choose to let go of fear and rejection. Inability is something that everyone can push past if we can just believe that we can do it. We are stronger than we think and we can go beyond our own limitations if we can just see beyond those limitations.
So what limitations have you put on yourself? Are you ready to soar beyond them? Are you ready to quit limiting yourself and step out of your comfort zone? Then take one small step today and stop saying “I can’t” and start saying “I can and I will.”
Remember you are not limited. You are limitless.
