The Oklahoma Press Association presented its Better Newspaper Contest Awards during the OPA Annual Convention, June 10-11, at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. Both hometown papers, the McIntosh County Democrat and the Eufaula Indian Journal took home nine combined first place awards, earning fourth (Democrat) and second (Indian Journal) place in the state in their respective divisions.
