OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma National Guard is mourning the loss of a friend and fellow Soldier.
Staff Sgt. Morgan Christine Robinson, of Vinita, Oklahoma, passed away on August 25 as a result of a non-military related incident.
Robinson joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard in August 2010 and served as a Petroleum Supply Specialist before recently reclassifying as a Unit Supply Specialist with Bravo Company, 834th Aviation Maintenance Company, in Tulsa. She was mobilized and deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait from August 2016 to April 2017 in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Freedom’s Sentinel. “Staff Sgt. Robinson served the Oklahoma Army National Guard with pride and honor,” said Maj. Gen. Michael Thompson, the adjutant general for Oklahoma. “She answered the call to service and proved her worth as a Soldier both at home and while serving in the combat zone. Her family will remain in our thoughts.”
A memorial services for Staff Sgt. Robinson was held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. at the Craig County Fairgrounds Community Center, 915 E. Apperson Road, Vinita, Oklahoma.
